Culture & performance: Wave wins two awards
Another exciting week here at Wave, and another pair of awards for the trophy case!
At Wave we care about our customers, we care about our team, and we care about our business. Since 2010 we’ve operated under the philosophy that it’s possible to make all three of these a priority, to do all three of these with excellence, and to do all three of these with integrity. And in that combination, we believe we will achieve extraordinary results.
We’re super proud to announce that this week alone we received two significant awards: Great Places to Work in Technology, and the Growth 500 award recognizing the fastest growing companies in Canada.
Great Places to Work
For the second year in a row, Wave has received the Great Places to Work in Technology award, following other Great Places to Work awards we’ve received, for Women, for Inclusion, and for Millennials. This award is a reflection of the effort that all Wavers put into creating an exceptional culture and work environment—a culture where everyone can thrive, and where the best tech talent in North America can come to do the best work of their careers.
We believe culture is far more than having a games arcade, a yoga studio and a beer fridge (though of course we do have all of that because, hey, we’re a tech company). We believe culture is the outcome of all of our behaviors. It comes from within rather than from an executive edict. It takes conscious, consistent and sustained effort. And it requires the participation of everybody across all levels of the organization in order to make it exceptional. So while our People and Culture team does a lot of the heavy lifting, we feel that this award recognizes the whole Wave team for being custodians of our culture, and making ours a truly exceptional work environment.
Growth 500
The Growth 500 award looks at companies across the spectrum of Canadian businesses, and measures them on percentage revenue growth over a two year period.
This year, Wave came in second among all Canadian Financial Services companies, and 10th overall among all categories. Sustained growth like Wave has seen is the outcome of focusing on our customers, understanding their needs, innovating to solve their problems, and executing against our vision for the future. Every day, as we interact with our customers, we celebrate the most important reward–when entrepreneurs tell us that we’ve made their lives better:
Prestigious awards like the Growth 500 are the outcome of thousands of smiling customers like this.
It’s been a tremendous year at Wave. Though we’re primarily looking ahead at a 4th quarter full of exciting announcements, today I’ll look backward in order to high-five my colleagues for just some of the awards we’ve received in the last 12 months or so:
